Context
Several mattress manufacturers in Spain and Portugal were facing rising costs and fragmented supply chains for key raw materials—textile, foam, and pocket springs. Each factory was sourcing independently, missing volume leverage and paying high per-unit freight costs.
Our Mission
Identify and qualify Turkish suppliers for textile, foam, and pocket springs, consolidate purchasing volumes across multiple Iberian manufacturers, and optimize logistics to maximize transport efficiency and reduce total cost of purchase.
Our Approach
MAXAM Group mapped the Turkish mattress component ecosystem, visiting 22 suppliers across Istanbul, Kayseri, and Gaziantep. We pre-qualified 8 suppliers meeting European quality and compliance standards. By consolidating orders from 5 Iberian manufacturers into grouped shipments, we achieved full container loads on every shipment, dramatically reducing per-unit freight costs. We negotiated framework agreements with 12-month pricing visibility and implemented a shared quality inspection protocol at origin.
